What is vanity url ??? is it useful for the facebooker ? Vanity url is a customized link for your profile. Currently our facebook url looks something like http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=999999999 which is meaningless to us. With the vanity url, your facebook url will be http://www.facebook.com/"your-name" which is more meaningful & easy for your friends to locate your profile.
In fact, this vanity url is not something new in the www. Twitter and LinkedIn have had this capability for quite some time.
As at now, there is no any link or button for the facebook users to set their vanity url. But, it is still possible to set your vanity url. Just go to http://facebook.com/username there you will have the option to set your vanity url. Once it's been selected, you won't be able to change or transfer it.

Burger King vs Facebook ?
Burger King has introduced a new Facebook application that is getting lots of attention – “Whopper Sacrifice.” The concept is essentially this: delete 10 of your Facebook friends and get a free Whopper. Each time you remove someone from Facebook, that action is broadcast to your news feed – apparently, not a big deal to users so far, as more than 157,833 friends have already been sacrificed.
Friendship is strong, but Whopper is STRONGER. With the current economy situation, i believe peoples are willing to sacrifice some "friends" to get a whopper. How about you? Will you trade 10 of your friends in Facebook for a whopper?
